Apply on Your Own

Australian passport holders need to apply for China Visa to enter China. The Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in Australia do not accept visa applications of ordinary passport holders directly.
Applicants should submit applications to Chinese Visa Application Service Centres located in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Berth according to their services areas as follows:

Notes

1. Working Hours (Mon.-Fri.): Submission of applications: 9:00 to 15:00; Payment and collection: 9:00 to 15:00.
2. Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.
3. Post addresses are for mail applications only.
4. Applicant’s passport should have a validity of at least 6 months at the time of intended entry (multiple entry visas require a longer validity);
5. Tourisits with Tourist Visa (Type L) could stay in China for up to 30 days, counting from the day they entering China;
6. No need to apply for a visa if Australian passport holders would like to visit Hong Kong for tourism purposes. The free-visa period would be up to 90 days.
