Board your flight heading for China!

Day 2: Arrival at Beijing Hotel:Asia Hotel or similar ( 5 stars )  

Welcome to China! Meet local tour guide upon arrival at Beijing airport. A comfortable transfer will take you to hotel. Free for the rest of the day!

Day 3: Beijing ( B'fast + Lunch ) Hotel:Asia Hotel or similar ( 5 stars )  

After breakfast in hotel, head north of the city to visit the famous Juyong Pass segment of the Great Wall of China. Surrounded by beautiful rugged mountains, this part of the wall stands out for its stunning Cloud Platform gate – a white marble fortification standing at 9.5 metres tall. Afterwards, visit the main site of the 2008 Olympic Games (no admission). Take a photo stop at Bird’s Nest.
Optional tour: Enjoy famous
Peking Roast Duck for dinner and then get back to hotel. During the bus ride, take the resplendent night view of Tiananmen Square and buildings around it such as Great Hall of the PeopleNational Theatre, National Museum, Monument to the People's Heroes, Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao etc..

The entire day will be at your own leisure to enjoy or opt for optional tours:
Optional Tour #1: Morning visit to Summer Palace. Renowned for its beautiful gardens which were once visited only by emperors and their families, Summer Palace has also a number of stunning lakes and ornate architectures. Take a boat ride (no boat ride during winter time from November to April) on the lake and admire this amazing place from a difference angle. Continue to Forbidden City, a 15th-century palace complex which now houses a museum full of collections from the Ming and Qing dynasties. Admire the beautiful architecture, which has earned a UNESCO World Heritage-listing due to its influence on the architectural and cultural developments of East Asia and beyond. Lunch included.

Optional Tour #2: Enjoy dinner of Beijing Noodle with Fried Sauces before attending breathtaking acrobatic show.

Take bullet train from Beijing to Yichang. Meet your local guide upon arrival and get driven to board the cruise.

The cruise would arrive at Chongqing at 09:00am (estimated). Disembark and transfer to Xian. Meet your Xian guide upon arrival and get his/her assistance to check in hotel.

This evening, you would be guided to Muslim Street. In early days of Tang Dynasty(618-907), many Arabian merchants traveled along Silk Road and stopped to settle down in Xian, the by-then capital city. Xian's Muslim community got to expand much since then. Muslim Street is now the hub of Muslim community in Xian and also an ideal place for visitors in search of local mouth-watering food and characteristic souvenirs. Dinner would be on your own exploration of cuisine in the street.

Day 10: Xian ( B'fast + Lunch ) Hotel:Hilton Xian High-tech or similar ( 5 stars )  

For a span of more than 1,000 years Xi'an served as the capital city for 13 dynasties. Its history endows Xi'an with a great number of precious relics and historical sites. Terracotta Warriors and Horses is deemed the eighth wonder of the world. Discovered accidentally in 1974, this incredible army of over 7000 soldiers, archers, horses and chariots in full battle array has guarded Emperor Qin's tomb since 210BC. Each figure is unique, and the painstaking repair and excavation continues in 3 pits which are protected inside huge hangars.

Xian dishes and you would also see how the most famous Biang Biang Noodles are made.
This afternoon, take a tour around
Ci’en Temple Park where you could take a photo stop at Big Wild Goose Pagoda.
Take a stroll along
Xian City Wall, the world’s most well-preserved city wall and and also one of the most magnificent ancient military defense systems. Its grandeur and excellent design impress every visitor there. The wall now stands with height of 12 meters, width of 15m at the top and 18 meters at the bottom.

Day 11: Depart from Xian ( B'fast ) Hotel:in-flight ( )  

Free on your own till the transfer to Xian airport and board your return flight.   Their flight is scheduled to arrive in Australia the next day!

For those who choose to extend their trip with extra 2 nights in Shanghai, today they will fly from Xian to Shanghai instead.

Start your day with a visit to City God Temple bazaar. It was once used as a shrine for Taoist worship and has since turned into a trendy tourist destination with delicious street food and handcrafts lining the countless stalls. Walking distance around is Yu Garden which you would also be admitted to visit.  Some 400 years ago, a wealthy merchant had this garden built  for his parents to enjoy a tranquil life in their senior years. Yu means satisfication and happiness in Chinese.  The garden is the epitome of China  ancient horticulture, with delicate pavilions, rockeries, halls, ponds and corridors.

After lunch, proceed to enjoy some leisure time at Xiantiandi area. With buildings of typical Shikumen style of the 19th century, Xintiandi is now a trendy hub of fashion shops, cafes, bars and clubs, attracting both stylish locals and sightseeing visitors. People often describe Xintiandi as the place where yesterday meets tomorrow.  Wrap up the day with a cup of coffee (on your own expense) and see how coffee beans are roasted in Starbucks Reserve Roastery Shanghai, the world’s largest Starbucks with a area of around 2,700.

Day 13: Shanghai Departure ( B'fast ) Hotel:in-flight ( )  

Free at your own leisure till the pick-up time for the transfer to airport. Board your flight back to Australia. Normally you will get back to Australia the next day. Home Sweet Home.
